Rebecca + Brian's Wedding at the Chatham Bars Inn
Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 11:23AM I love ending the season with a blast of a wedding! Becky found me through a Style Me Pretty post where one of my weddings had been featured. It turned out she and my husband were from the same town and attended the same high school growing up - small world! I swear, my husband ends up knowing half my clients! Anyways, Becky and Brian were two of the sweetest people to work with. The couple met while out on the town with mutual friends and as they say, the rest is history. (please note the significance of the photos at the bar, hehe) Their story however can go back to days of Becky's childhood where she spent summers on the Cape. The beach, in particular Chatham, has always been a favorite place of Becky's. "Chatham has been my favorite place on Earth," she explained to me. "I can remember, as a little girl, the excitement that would ensue when we "crossed the bridge"! There is no way to sum-up how much I love it - and it's even better now that Brian has the same fondness for it. I grew-up spending my summers at our grandparents house - and for us Chatham has become the mecca for family time, bliss, relaxation and everything in between. It's such a beautiful spot - and we both truly feel like we are at "home" there - whatever the season is." When Becky and Brian first met, Brian was working in baseball - so he couldn't spend any portion of the summer at the Cape. In the fall, once the season was over, the couple would take a week long vacation to Chatham. That's the main reason they decided to wed at CBI in the Fall. Becky continued, "Everything is so crisp, quiet and beautiful. It's nice to have it to yourself!! As we've grown, Chatham has taken on so many different meanings - of course the main one being MAHI GOLD. My brother Mike and I launched the company there and after leaving baseball Brian started working with us full time. It's amazing to get to work on something that was developed from not just a place - but what it represents - the memories, times with family you've spent there, and it's gorgeous landscape."
Que the tears for me - as I write this post I'm about 8 and 1/2 months pregnant (which means an emotional mess) and I can relate to Becky's words as I've spent many summers on the Cape with my family, and now that I have my own children, it's great to be able to blend working on the Cape with celebrating. I believe the photos speak for themselves. You can feel the fall crispness Becky was talking about and I seriously cannot wait to 'cross the bridge' this coming season!

Becky's brother was her man of honor - these two have the sweetest connection.

Brian with his dad and brother, the best man.

Brian's adorable nephews were the ring bearers...

Becky planned about two hours for photos - ahhh YES PLEASE! We made a few stops. First up, Island Pursuit in Chatham, which carries MAHI GOLD. We stopped in for a quick hello and photos.

Next up, a stroll across the way to the Squire. If you know Chatham, you know the Squire.

Lastly, but most important, Becky's grandparents house. Her grandparents purchased the home as a 25th wedding anniversary gift to one another and the home has since been a gift for the entire family to enjoy.

Something I've never seen and thought was very touching, Becky + Brian introduced their grandparents, parents, and wedding party...

Brian's grandpa rocked the dance floor all night!

SOOOOO, here's where the story ends...however I'm hoping not! Becky + Brian ended up missing most of their reception sadly and unexpectedly. I've never had this happen to a couple and I was seriously heart broken for them. SO, my hope is you'll be seeing more of them on the blog as they return for a photo session this summer. From the bottom of my heart, thanks Brian + Becky for including me on such a beautiful day in your lives. Congratulations! xo
